Christian baby books at the dollar store… YES!! -review

Are you that parent that wants to acquire Bible storybooks for your munchkin, but can’t afford for them to be $11+ a piece? I hear you, I understand. I am rowing that boat right along with you. Well look no further than your local Dollar Tree. Yes… the Dollar Tree.

If you did not already know, Dollar Tree has a pretty legit book section full of different novels, cookbooks, crosswords and children’s books. But more specifically they have Bible storybooks available in their book section. Today I offer four books that I recently picked up and would like to share. They are “The Story of Joseph”, “Baby Jesus”, “Noah’s Ark”, and “Jonah and the Big Fish.”

Each book is 8 pages long and offers pop-out  illustrations on each page. They are easy to read, light weight board books that are ideal for small kids to look at solo or with you during story time. All illustrations are bright, cute and interesting to look at. Though each story is drastically edited down and simplified for young readers to understand, the facts or “bones” of the story are still intact overall.

There is no age suggestion listed on the books, but I would recommend them for ages 1-3. Now, I have a 4 month old that I read them to, so if you want to start your child’s reading journey early like me, go for it. If not, toddlers will love the fun illustrations. These books open the door for more detailed discussions of the stories later on.

I would recommend them not only for your child’s personal use, but as gifts to others or even as a donation to a church’s nursery or children’s church. Of course, the best part… they are only $1 each.
